About
The Assessor's Office is responsible for setting fair and accurate values for 1.8 million parcels of Cook County property. The value of these properties is not determined on an individual basis, but rather by a mass appraisal system. The mass appraisal system is a way to put fairness into the entire assessment process.

I scheduled an appointment online but the day before my appointment I received a very detailed voicemail from your office. I was informed that your office would not be able to assist me with the business I was trying to handle. The caller then went in to tell me what office to contact, the address and the phone number. She was very informative and I appreciate that she saved me a unnecessary trip to the wrong location. Even though I missed the call and she left a voicemail, I appreciate all the information and guidance she left on my voicemail.
